Be my hero and help us solve this. We have been struggling to get this working for a couple of days.

We tried to install as the administrator as follows:

C:\Windows\system32>blat -install oursite-com.mail.protection.outlook.com ***@oursite.com 3 25 ProfileName

Here is the error we get in the log file:

2017.03.22 14:09:53 (Wed)------------Start of Session-----------------

Failed to open registry key for Blat
To set the SMTP server's name/address and your username/email address for that
server machine do:
blat -install server_name your_email_address
or use '-server <server_name>' and '-f <your_email_address>'
aborting, nothing sent
2017.03.22 14:09:53 (Wed)-------------End of Session------------------

Here are the permissions for the registry key:

Is it possible that your anti-virus is interfering? I am running Blat
64-bit on my Windows 7 system, and on Windows 2008 R2. The log output you
show does not come from using the -install option, rather it comes from
using the -log option when running Blat normally. If possible, please show
what your runtime command line is so I can check the source code.

If Blat is not permitted access to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the registry, you
can use -hkcu option to force Blat into using HKEY_CURRENT_USER. If you do
use -hkcu while running as Administrator, you may have to be Administrator
when executing Blat thereafter.

Also, I would suggest downloading version 3.2.17 because I found a small
issue with version 3.2.16 related to profile name handling.

We have been talking about blat problems for so long. Anyone interested in forming just a social group where we talk about non-blat issues?

I have had permission problems with Blat starting with Windows 8.0. It
will install without error but often will error out when called, and the
error is about not being able to access the registry. My workaround is
to not install blat but to specify the values when Blat is called.

In the command line which calls Blat, specify the server with -server
followed by the SMTP server URL; and -f followed by the return email
address you're using for Blat.

For the same user restrictions issues I also recommend not putting Blat
into a Windows or system folder but into some folder you created under
the same username you will call Blat from, and specify that folder as
the working folder in the config that calls Blat.
